Laura Cash
Corvallis, Oregon native, and daughter of Pat and Sharen Weber, Laura Weber began to play music at the age of 9.
Her dad had a nice old fiddle that he sent to have restored for her. Without the financial means to do
this, but with carpentry as his trade, he built a two story deck on the back of the violin makers house
in trade for his restoration work. That marked the beginning of a long musical journey for Laura. She
developed a deep love for the fiddle. "My family endured traveling together every summer to many fiddle
contests all over the country."
At 17 years old, she placed first in the much coveted
National Fiddle Championship at Weiser, Idaho
(Junior division). Shortly after high school she moved to Nashville, TN to tour with Patty Loveless,
playing fiddle, guitar, mandolin and singing harmony. She then moved to Sakaide, Japan to play in a
bluegrass band at a resort for a year. After returning to Nashville, she went back out on the road
with several more artists, including Pam Tillis, James House, Chalee Tennison, and many other new
artists. "I was honored to appear on Mr. Roy Acuff's show on the Grand Ole Opry, as well as one of 4
fiddlers in Ray Price's band, "The Cherokee Cowboys", again, on the Opry."
In the spring of 1999 she was invited to play fiddle with
June Carter Cash on tour to promote her album
"Press On". "It was such an honor to meet and play with her," says Laura. She soon met her future husband,
June and John's son, John Carter Cash. "We have been married since July 2000 and now have 2 children
together, in addition to my step son." Laura has released one album,
"Among My Souvenirs".
It is all
traditional country music, each song picked from her favorite singers and players, namely Bob Wills,
George Jones, Johnny Paycheck, etc. She was joined by her father-in-law on his song, "I Still Miss
Someone", as a duet, as well as an incredible list of veteran musicians. In addition, she played on
Johnny's album's," American III" and "American IV", and June's album
"Wildwood Flower".
She also sang a
duet with Larry Gatlin on the CD "Voice of the Spirit, Gospel of the South", released in the spring of
2006. She has recently toured overseas, supporting the european release of her husband John
Carter's record,"Bitter Harvest", as well as her own.

Dale Jett - Grandson of AP & Sara Carter
Singer and musician, Dale Jett is a native of Southwest Virginia. He is a third generation member of the legendary Carter Family. The son of Janette Carter, the grandson of A.P.and Sara Carter, his roots have been heavily steeped within the heart of his family's musical heritage. Growing up within the Carter Family, Dale has been influenced by many musicians and styles of music.
He began playing guitar in his late teens when Elizabeth Cotten taught him his first chords - left handed, upside down. Later, he added his own style of Autoharp playing to his repertoire. But, it is ultimately his voice that arrests you. It is powerful and compelling, yet at the same time, delicate and haunting.
Like his grandfather, Dale is a "collector" of songs. His dedication to the preservation of traditional music, and his admiration of other songwriters are evident in his regular performances at The Carter Fold and other musical engagements. His choices are eclectic; his performances and recordings encompass a unique combination of traditional songs blended with a mix of others that extend the boundaries of conventional country. Whether playing an original tune, or that of others, his music will ring true to the soul.
Dale resides in Hiltons, VA. He and his wife, Teresa, have two children and three grandchildren. He emcees and performs on the weekly shows at The Carter Fold along with his wife, and long time friend,Oscar Harris. Other friends often help out too. Dale has performed at festivals, concerts, colleges, workshops, private gatherings, etc. around the country.
Dale takes pride in preserving the rich heritage of the Carter Family that he was raised in.
